DRIFTING BEYOND for Solo Native American-Style Flute
A gentle and reflective piece for Native American-Style Flute (minor pentatonic scale). Duration approximately 2’30”.
This piece was inspired by the gentle play of waves breaking at the shore, the feeling of drifting on water and how music is often capable of carrying us to somewhere beyond our everyday reality.
The flute part is notated in Nakai notation (i.e. F-sharp minor with sharpened 6th + fingering diagrams), so it can be played on 6-hole minor pentatonic flutes in any key.
N.B. The demo recording on the “Native American-Style Flute” page is recorded on a Contra Bass A Preservation flute (432Hz) made by High Spirits (highspirits.com) .
